Join us on Sunday, Dec. 2 @ 3pm for Have a Heart Benefit. Our bartender Shelly’s, Aunt Kim, had a heart transplant last February and we are raising money for her cause.

Kim was recently given the miracle of life with a new heart on February 1, 2012. She is 41 years old and resides in Franklin Park, PA. Kim’s heart condition is caused by a rare neuromuscular disorder, Kearns-Sayre Syndrome. She was diagnosed when she was 19 years old and received her first of many pacemakers and defibrillator. After her transplant surgery, we realized her journey is far from over. While transplantation gives a new lease on life, the risk of rejection is high and lifelong continued treatment is necessary. One of the impacts of transplantation that the general public may be unaware of is the very high cost, not only of the surgery itself, but of the continued care required for the transplant patient. Kim must take immunosuppressant drugs for the rest of her life. These medications cost thousands of dollars each and every month.

We will have an all you can eat buffet, Chinese auction, strip ticket sales (winner receives cash prize), 50/50 and misc raffles. Cenci’s is donating all food and a portion of total sales. Please join us and support a good cause!
